COVID-19 POLICY

CHP ELECTRICAL COVID-19 POLICY

At CHP our customers, employees and the wider community’s health and wellbeing is our top priority and this strongly underpins our approach in this new environment.

It is our aim to identify and mitigate any risks with regards to our health and safety policies and procedures under the COVID 19 protocols and to provide our clients with a solid degree of confidence that we can perform our work to a high standard under these conditions.

Our aim is to reassure you that we are assessing all measures to ensure we are providing safe and efficient work standards in these times and we continue to stay across all the Ministry of Health safe and best practice guidelines.  Should anything change we will alter our approach as advised.

Currently the following principles and guidelines outline our businesses overall strategy for all staff, in working to minimise the risk of exposure and spread to anyone with regards to COVID 19:

  • DO NOT COME TO WORK IF YOU ARE SICK.
  • YOU NEED TO LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH A PERSON WHO HAS COVID 19, OR SUSPECTS THEY MAY HAVE COVID 19.
  • You must have a specific site induction before you start work.
  • You will call in / text your allocated Director, every morning BEFORE you go to site and let him know you are OK and fit for work for the day.
  • On arrival to your site, you must text through the time you arrived and the time you intend to spend on the site, if it’s not going to be the whole day. Some sites may not have sign in registers. (Make sure you have your own pen as we don’t want you to share a common pen at the register). Your times will be email to the Main Contractor so they can record your attendance.
  • You must not drive to the wholesalers, or to get food for smoko or lunch. Food must be brought from home and consumed on site.  Materials / gear will be delivered to you.
  • Make sure you have plenty of water, in a bottle, that you have brought from home.
  • You must always maintain a social distance of 2m from anyone else.
  • You must not hug or shake hands with anyone.
  • You must wear additional PPE on some work place sites as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene. Machine wash work cloths frequently.
  • Do NOT share your tools, or borrow anyone else’s tools, this can transmit COVID 19.
  • Wash hands often
  • Apply sanitizer to your hands on entering a site.
  • Work vehicles that are shared must have common areas wiped down. (Door handles).
